Billing Clerk - Bluffton, SC

We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized Billing Clerk to join our accounting and customer service team. The Billing Clerk will be responsible for generating invoices, managing billing data, resolving billing discrepancies, and ensuring accurate and timely billing to clients. The ideal candidate has a strong understanding of basic accounting principles, excellent attention to detail, and solid communication skills.

The position is full-time, in office with pay starting at $19/$20 per hour! Tiered based on experience.

Responsibilities:

• Prepare and issue accurate invoices to customers based on sales and service contracts.
• Maintain up-to-date billing records and ensure all billable services are captured.
• Review and verify billing data for completeness and accuracy.
• Communicate with clients and internal departments regarding billing inquiries and discrepancies.
• Monitor accounts receivable and follow up on outstanding invoices.
• Enter and update customer information in the billing system.
• Reconcile billing accounts and generate reports as needed.
• Assist with month-end closing and audits related to billing.
• Maintain confidentiality of all billing and customer information.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent; associate’s degree in accounting or related field is a plus.
• Proven experience as a billing clerk or in a similar role.
• Familiarity with billing procedures and general accounting principles.
• Proficiency in MS Office, especially Excel; experience with billing software.
• Excellent numerical ability and attention to detail.
• Strong organizational and time-management skills.
• Good written and verbal communication skills.
