About the Role
We are seeking a Litigation Paralegal who is detail-obsessed, highly organized, and passionate about helping clients navigate complex legal cases. This role supports attorneys handling high-volume dockets of catastrophic injury, FELA, and maritime claims. You will be expected to move cases forward, anticipate attorney needs, and execute with accuracy and speed.
This is a full-time, in-office position with the potential for hybrid work.
Responsibilities
- Manage a high-volume docket of plaintiff litigation cases from intake through trial
- Organize, track, and manage case files using law firm case management software
- Request, receive, and maintain accurate records for medical treatments and bills
- Draft and process legal documents, pleadings, subpoenas, discovery, and correspondence
- Calendar court dates, deadlines, depositions, and hearings
- Coordinate depositions with medical experts and fact witnesses
- Prepare comprehensive hearing and trial binders with zero margin for error
- Communicate proactively with clients regarding case updates, appointments, and expectations
- Work directly with attorneys to keep each case on track toward resolution or trial
Qualifications
- Minimum of 3 years experience as a Litigation Paralegal, preferably in personal injury law
- Strong knowledge of civil procedure in Louisiana state and federal courts
- Proficiency with legal technology, including case management software, Microsoft Word, Adobe Acrobat, Outlook, and Slack
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Highly organized with impeccable attention to detail
- Proven ability to manage multiple cases and meet strict deadlines
- Must be able to work independently and collaboratively within a team
- High sense of urgency and ownership over outcomes
- Strong problem-solving and time management skills
- Experience coordinating depositions, preparing hearing materials, and managing discovery
Preferred Experience
- Plaintiff-side personal injury, maritime, or FELA litigation
- Familiarity with medical terminology and records organization
- Prior experience working directly with trial attorneys
- Working knowledge of deposition logistics and trial preparation processes
