Event Set-up Supervisor

POP Cats, a fun and interactive festival celebrating cats, art, and pop culture, is looking for a Setup Supervisor to help oversee our Setup & Breakdown Staff at the Monona Terrace Convention Center on February 14th and 16th. This hands-on role is crucial to ensuring our event setup runs smoothly and efficiently.

Your Role:

Team Oversight:

• Ensure all Setup & Breakdown team members sign in and out on the provided attendance sheet.
• Coordinate lunch breaks and manage the team's schedule to keep things running efficiently.
• Ensure every team member knows what to do, how to do it, and always has a task to complete.

Hands-On Setup:

• Actively participate in setup and breakdown tasks to support the team and ensure everything runs on time.
• Oversee team members to make sure setup instructions are followed properly (instructions will be provided).

Communication:

• Act as the point of contact between the Setup & Breakdown team and event producers, relaying updates or questions as needed.
• Quickly address and resolve any issues that arise during setup or breakdown.

What We’re Looking For:

• Leadership Skills: Experience managing or supervising teams is a plus, but not required. You should be comfortable providing guidance and keeping the team on track.
• Organizational Abilities: Ability to oversee multiple tasks and ensure deadlines are met.
• Strong Communication: Clear, friendly, and confident in giving instructions and following up.
• Hands-On Approach: Willingness to be part of the setup process (this is not just a supervisory role).
• Problem-Solving: Ability to adapt and handle unexpected situations.

This position does not require heavy lifting, but candidates should be comfortable working in a fast-paced environment and staying on their feet during the shift.

Shift Schedule:

• Friday, February 14th: 9:30am - 7pm (Setup Day).
• Sunday, February 16th: 3:00pm - 8pm (Breakdown Day)

Compensation:

• Payment processed on February 18th (two days after the event).
• Sandwich lunch on Friday, snacks, and bottled water provided both days.

Core Guidelines:

• Represent the POP Cats brand with integrity, enthusiasm, and teamwork.
• Ensure team members follow all safety rules and practices.
• Strictly no alcohol, marijuana, or controlled substances while on duty.

Interview Process: Once selecting resumes, we'll arrange interviews. These interviews will be conducted virtually via either Zoom or FaceTime.
