We are seeking a detail-oriented and adaptable Prepress Specialist to join our team. This role is ideal for entry-level graphic designers who are interested in gaining hands-on experience in a production environment. The position requires both technical digital skills and the physical capability to handle print production tasks.
This is a hybrid position, with an estimated 60/40 split between digital prepress work and hands-on print production, shifting closer to 70/30 during busier periods. You will work closely with our Canon Arizona XTF Flat Bed Printer and other production equipment, and you must be comfortable operating this machinery directly, especially when producing samples. Support from the production floor will be available for large-volume runs, but you'll still be expected to oversee quality and setup.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare and manipulate client-supplied artwork for final print and production
- Assess files for print suitability and make necessary corrections (alignment, color, bleed, typography, etc.)
- Create, revise, and finalize print proofs
- Convert files for printing or engraving across a range of equipment including:
- Canon Arizona XTF Flat Bed Printer
- Kern High-Speed Laser Engraver & Cutter
- Fusion 3D Printer
- Load, unload, and manage full sheets of printing material—must be physically capable of doing so independently
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of both digital and physical workspaces
- Perform basic equipment maintenance and supply replenishment
Skills and Qualifications:
- Working knowledge of prepress principles
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
- Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (particularly Illustrator and InDesign)
- Familiarity with design, color theory, and typography
- Ability to work efficiently in a deadline-driven environment
- Experience with CorelDRAW and ONYX software is a plus
- Proficiency in Google Workspace
- Ability to handle and move large sheets of material safely and independently
