Pope Saint John Paul II Preparatory School is seeking a dedicated and hardworking Grounds Manager to maintain the beauty, safety, and functionality of our school grounds. This position plays a vital role in ensuring a well-kept and inviting campus environment for students, faculty, and visitors.
Responsibilities:
- Maintain lawns, trees, shrubs, and flower beds through regular mowing, trimming, watering, and fertilization.
- Perform seasonal duties such as leaf removal, snow and ice removal, and storm cleanup.
- Ensure all outdoor spaces, walkways, and athletic fields are clean, safe, and well- maintained.
- Sets up game and practice fields for athletics or special events; performs painting, gameday field preparation, and field equipment placement as appropriate.
- Responsible for maintaining and caring for hard playing surfaces such as tennis courts and running tracks.
- Moves, erects, repairs, and sets up all portable athletic equipment, including but not limited to goals, nets, cages, goal posts, tennis nets, LAX netting, and football-related setups.
- Performs general maintenance and trash removal tasks on athletic fields and campus grounds, as appropriate.
- Regularly clean and provide routine maintenance of school equipment.
- Monitor and maintain irrigation systems.
- Assist with event setup and outdoor facility preparations.
- Report any maintenance or safety concerns to school administration.
Employment Type: Full-time
Schedule: Monday-Friday, occasional weekends as needed
Compensation: Competitive pay based on experience
Requirements:- Active faith life and membership in a Christian church.
- Degree in turf management is preferred, certifications in turf, fertilization, etc., will be considered.
- Ability to operate and maintain lawn care equipment and tools.
- Knowledge of seasonal lawn care, plant maintenance, and irrigation systems.
- Physical ability to lift, bend, and perform manual labor in various weather conditions.
- Strong work ethic, attention to detail, and reliability.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
