Position Description
Pope Soil & Water Conservation is looking for an experienced Watershed Planner to lead our watershed planning efforts. This individual will be responsible for coordinating watershed planning activities, developing and implementing comprehensive local water/watershed management plans, and promoting watershed conservation practices through outreach and educational programming.
- Lead watershed planning activities and represent Pope SWCD at watershed partnership meetings.
- Develop and manage watershed management plans that incorporate best practices and stakeholder input.
- Design and deliver training programs and workshops to educate landowners and other stakeholders on watershed conservation practices.
Requirements and Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in natural resources, soils, geology, agriculture, geography, planning, information systems, hydrology, public administration, environmental resource management, or related field.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in watershed planning, conservation, or a related field.
- Strong leadership and project management skills, with ability to lead teams and coordinate projects effectively.
