Job Description
The Environmental Planner will play a critical role in developing and implementing comprehensive local water/watershed management plans. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in natural resources, geology, and planning, as well as excellent communication and analytical skills.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct research and analysis to identify conservation opportunities and develop strategies to address them.
- Develop and maintain relationships with stakeholders, including landowners, county officials, and other partners.
- Design and install conservation practices, such as wetlands and grasslands, to improve water quality and habitat diversity.
- Communicate effectively with diverse audiences, including policymakers, landowners, and the general public.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in natural resources, soils, geology, agriculture, geography, planning, information systems, hydrology, public administration, environmental resource management, or related field.
- Knowledge of geology, geography, planning, wildlife ecology, wetland, and grassland management.
- Experience with design and installation of conservation practices or similar work.
- Ability to read, analyze, and interpret complex scientific and technical data.
