Cashier/Customer Service

Job Summary
We are seeking a motivated and friendly Customer Service Associate / Cashier to join our team. In this role, you will be the first point of contact for customers, providing exceptional service while handling transactions efficiently. Your ability to engage with customers and assist them with their needs will contribute to a positive shopping experience in our grocery store environment.

Duties

• Operate the cash register and process customer transactions accurately using POS systems.
• Provide excellent customer service by greeting customers, answering questions, and addressing any concerns.
• Conduct product demonstrations to promote new items and enhance customer knowledge.
• Maintain a clean and organized checkout area to ensure a pleasant shopping experience.
• Assist in stocking shelves and organizing merchandise as needed.
• Utilize retail math skills to handle cash management and ensure accurate cash drawer balances.
• Demonstrate effective phone etiquette when answering customer inquiries or directing calls appropriately.
• Collaborate with team members to achieve store goals and maintain high standards of service.

Requirements

• Previous experience in a grocery store or retail environment is preferred but not required.
• Strong customer service skills with the ability to engage positively with customers.
• Familiarity with cash registers and POS systems is a plus.
• Basic math skills for handling transactions and cash management effectively.
• Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with good phone etiquette.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
• A willingness to learn about products and services offered in the store.
