The Poplar Bluff Municipal Library is seeking a dynamic individual who will help grow current and implement new library programming; promote library collections; strengthen and increase outreach; and participate in community events both on site and off site as appropriate. An associate's degree is required. One year of experience working directly with teens (ages 13 to 17) and a bachelor's degree is preferred. Candidates must have a strong customer service philosophy; excellent communication skills; strong organizational skills; demonstrate creativity, flexibility, and a positive attitude; and an ability to exhibit good judgment and establish effective working relationships. Additional skills needed include an understanding of relational data systems, proficiency with Google's G Suite, and equipment including mobile devices in a library setting with an understanding and use of library databases. Successful candidate must become a Certified Passport Agent after the first 6 months of employment.
Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation are required. Candidates will be required to pass an employer paid drug test and background check.
This is a full-time 40 hour per week position with evening and weekend hours scheduled at both the Main Library and new Ridgel Branch. Salary is commensurate with experience. Salary Range: $17-18 per hour.
