Poptime Snack Brands is a consumer product company that has an immediate career opportunity for a motivated individual to fill one of our key roles as an Area Sales Manager for our DSD sales channel.
As the DSD Area Sales Manager, you will develop and implement short and long-term strategies to drive results in closing of sales in your area. You will be responsible for maintaining existing customers, prospecting, recruiting, and onboarding new customers to sell Poptime Snack products.
We are looking for a person who will use their drive and expertise to deliver the right products that satisfy and delight our clients, which will bring about repeat sales. You will maintain strong business relationships and make it easy for customers to do business with Poptime, by listening, anticipating, and responding to their needs.
Must have current working knowledge and relationships with supermarkets, c-store and alternative retail in Brooklyn and Staten Island.
Travel is required 100% of the time

Responsibilities
- Drive company-owned vehicle to deliver snack products to retail locations within assigned territory
- Ensure products are properly displayed and stocked in-store to maximize sales opportunities
- Collect payments from customers and maintain accurate records of transactions
- Meet monthly, quarterly, and annual sales targets and accurately project future sales forecast
- Conduct business meetings with prospective customers to discuss their evolving needs, assess the quality of the company's relationship with the customers, and drive additional sales
- Keep current with economic indicators, changing trends, supply and demand, and competitors to maintain sales volume and product mix
- Ensure the delivery of targets through performance review, and product/customer management
- Develop and maintain relationships between different channels and cross-functionally
- Assist the sales team with launching new customers and helping them to become successful within the first 90 days
- Recommend product, promotion and process changes to improve the sales potential for both customers and the company
- Monitor inventory levels to anticipate incoming orders and communicate any restocking needs to the appropriate department.
Requirements:
· Excellent working knowledge of retailers in the Passaic, Bergen, Essex, Morris, Sussex and Union Counties.
· Two or more years of professional-level sales experience
- Crisis management, resourceful, and solution-oriented abilities
- Excellent initiative and interpersonal communication skills, with a demonstrated ability to influence key decision-makers, and clients at all levels
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships in a team environment
- Ability to stand for long periods, walk long distances, and adjust to different weather conditions
- Availability to travel 80% of the time
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
- Ability to lift and move heavy objects, as needed.
- Familiarity with the retail industry and DSD processes is a plus.
