Work Schedule
In an effort to continue strengthening Popular’s strategy to provide year-round, uninterrupted services to Popular Bank (PB), the “Permanent Skeleton Crew” will significantly strengthen the PB Disaster Recovery Team’s capabilities while providing participants with career development opportunities and eligibility to participate in a work-from-home format. Must be willing to relocate to one of the following states: California, Connecticut, Florida, Georgia, Illinois, Maryland, Michigan, Missouri, North Carolina, New Jersey, New York, Ohio, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island, Texas.
The Loan Operations Technician is responsible for processing various functions related to loans, including booking loan information, processing payments and payoffs, handling wire transactions, and balancing items processed during the day. The role also involves responding to inquiries from internal departments and processing Service Request Portal (SRP) transactions for Popular Bank loans.
Essential Duties And Responsibilities
Loan Boarding:
Bachelor of Business Administration from an accredited university or college, preferably with a concentration in accounting.
Experience
Minimum of 18 months of previous banking operations experience. Broad knowledge of Commercial Credit Policy and Loan Operations procedures.

- Monday – Friday from 8:30am to 5:30pm (Eastern Time) or equivalent schedule to Puerto Rico time. Daylight saving time (US), 8:00 am to 5:00pm (Eastern Time) or equivalent to 9:00 am to 6:00 pm schedule (Puerto Rico time).
- Flexible schedule including different time schedules (as requested), holidays, and weekends. Coordinate vacations except August, September and October, due to the highest hurricane impact season.

Essential Duties And Responsibilities
Loan Boarding:
- Analyze commercial loan documents and process disbursements, monetary transactions, and wire transfers promptly and accurately.
- Daily booking of various types of loan information and processing of loan payments and payoffs.
- Perform daily balancing of transactions processed.
- Upload final packages on Loan Boarding and review loans with internal checklists.
- Post-booking verification process and process corrections if necessary.
- Ensure compliance with SLA’s and Quality Tool SLA’s.
- Offer support and orientation to internal customers regarding monetary transactions processing, data integrity, regulations, and system’s fields description and codes.
- Respond to communication and inquiries from various internal departments and auditors.
- Answer calls and provide support to Branches and Departments of Popular Bank.
- Participate in special projects and disaster recovery testing as needed.
- Assist in updating department procedures and testing new applications or validating test scripts for application changes.
- Ensure compliance with quality and service objectives, including GL Items Clearing and maintaining logs for commercial facilities, and Consumer HELOC and Securities Based Lending (SBL).

- Proficiency in MS Office 365 programs such as Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Teams, Planner.
- Excellent communication skills in English and Spanish, being completely bilingual is required.
