The Position :

This position oversees and participates in structural drawings from conception to final design. As an experienced Structural Engineer, the person in this position will be expected to coordinate with clients, consultants, and contractors; manage the budget for each project; seek opportunities for new clientele; provide leadership within each project as well as the firm; mentor others; be part of our Quality Assurance / Quality Control processes; and more.

Responsibilities :

Structural Calculations
Overall Drawing Production including Quality Control
Shop Drawing Review
Coordination with Contractors & Design Teams
Site Visits & Inspections
Overseeing a Project from Conception to Completion with minimal Oversight

Skills / Position Requirements :

Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering

P.E. License Required

4 Years of Structural Engineering Experience

Technical Knowledge of : International Building Code, Relevant Design Standards & Construction Means and Methods

Effective Communication with clients, consultants, contractors, principals, and team members

One Year from Today :

You have impressed your colleagues as well as our clients with your ability to manage projects with precision and efficiency.

You identify and evaluate scope changes and escalate to a principal as needed.

Your knowledge of Codes, combined with your savvy for adapting the Code’s many exceptions to the needs of the project, has made you a key player on projects and in the office.

You are an effective mentor who is well liked by your co-workers and clients.

You take ownership of projects, answer questions from the contractor and clients, and use your problem-solving skills to keep the project within scope, on schedule, and within budget.

You are respected for your growing knowledge of how things are built, and deliver documents that are complete, comprehensive, and coordinated with all other construction disciplines.
