Production Supervisor Job Purpose:
Manages and leads a team of employees. Communicates company goals, safety practices and deadlines to the team. Motivates team members and assesses performance. Provides help to management, including training personnel and keeps management updated on team performance. Communicates concerns and policies among management and team members.
Key areas of accountability and responsibility are:
Safety: # of incidents, PPE compliance, cleanliness and organization
Quality: Reject rate, training, process ownership and development
Delivery/Schedule Attainment: Hitting daily targets, staffing plans, contingency planning
Productivity: Process improvement, Team Leader development and ownership, accountability
Job Duties
· Provide leadership, direction and development of all team members
· Train new team members and ensure staff levels adequately meet daily and weekly plan
· Manage job tracking boards and daily schedules to meet weekly production goals
· Address any safety issues (ex. safety glasses, ear buds etc.)
· Communicate with production management for manpower usage and quality issues
· Establish a system of accountability to ensure that each customer order produced matches the paperwork (count, quality, length, color, etc.) in each area prior to proceeding to the next
· Manage any conflicts that arise and build a unified department and culture
· Support management decisions and communicate deadlines and goals to team members
· Answer team member questions, help with team member problems, and enforce all standard operating procedures
· Conduct team meetings to update members on best practices and continuing expectations
· Work with Materials/Inventory Coordinator to maintain proper inventory levels
· Coordinate with shipping department to meet shipping dates
Qualifications
· Possess strong understanding of work processes and product
· Strong oral communication
· 2 years of supervision/leadership
· Experience in a manufacturing setting preferred
· Knowledge of process improvement techniques
· Able to create and adhere to a project plan or timeline, anticipating potential problems and suggesting contingency plan.
· Strong interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills
· Conflict management
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $20.00 - $25.00 per hour
Expected hours: 40 – 50 per week
