About Porch Light Health Clinic:
The Porch Light Health – Lab Team, helps bring class leading Clinical Laboratory Medicine to an often underserved population, the addicted. The successful candidate must have strong Laboratory; Team, Chemistry, and Processing skills. The individual we are seeking needs to be knowledgeable of specimen collections, and have a good understanding of laboratory skills to get correct results.
This position works in our Special Chemistry department working with LCMS instruments and procedures. The successful candidate will be trained on how to: Sample Process, Specimen Preparation for LCMS testing, and Reagent preparation necessary for our LCMS department. This individual will further be trained to the point that they’ll be Processing and Reading LCMS Data with the best of them!

Job Type: Full-Time
Pay: 64,000-75,000 salary (based on education, experience)
Hours: 40 hours per week, some Saturdays required

Responsibilities and Duties:
As a Special Chemistry Tech at Porch Light Health, you will be expected to perform a combination of tasks to support our lab. Specific responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Recording test results.
- Keeping accurate records of test results.
- Preparing and storing specimens.
- Examining and approving samples other professionals collect.
- Ensuring integrity, proper quantity, quality, and the correct type of samples for testing.
- Preparing lab Reagents, Standards, and Quality Control solutions for testing.
- Maintaining a clean and safe working environment.
- Standardizing test procedures to ensure consistency, reliability, and useful results.
- Calibrating equipment.
- Equipment maintenance.
- Developing standard operating procedures.
- Using automated equipment and computerized lab instruments to perform several tests simultaneously.
- Working with a reference lab.
- Pipetting specimens and reagents (using positive displacement pipettes).
- Performing dilutions.
- Answer phones, create faxes, dialog appropriately with our corporate demands.
- A clear understanding of a Batch oriented system.
- A good understanding of typical LCMS terms and vernacular.
Qualifications and Skills:
The ideal candidate will possess the following qualifications and skills:
- Bachelors of Science in a core Science (Chemistry, Biology, Physics, etc..)
- Strong Communication Skills, able to communicate effectively
- Time Management Skills: Ability to prioritize tasks and manage time effectively in a busy setting.
- Dependability and Reliability: Must be reliable, punctual
- Reliable transportation
- Education: Bachelors of Science in a core Science (Chemistry, Biology, Physics, etc..)
- Experience: At least 1 year of experience in laboratory
