Summary : As a Banquet Captain, you'll play a pivotal role in ensuring the seamless preparation and execution of banquet events. You'll lead and inspire our banquet staff, ensuring that every event is a success and our guests leave with a smile.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities :

  • Lead the Team : Coordinate and oversee the banquet staff during food and beverage service.
  • Support Management : Assist in the operation of the banquet department.
  • Plan for Success : Review banquet event orders and prepare rooms for daily functions.
  • Execute Flawlessly : Prioritize the needs of each event to ensure it runs smoothly.
  • Maintain Excellence : Keep food and beverage items stocked and service times punctual.
  • Ensure Safety : Report any equipment issues or unsafe conditions.
  • Wrap Up Right : Perform opening and closing procedures, ensuring everything is secure at the end of events.
  • Customer Care : Prepare and present bills to customers, addressing any questions or concerns with professionalism.
  • Efficient Staffing : Schedule staff for banquet functions and help control labor costs.

  • Safety First : Maintain a safe working environment and report any unsafe conditions immediately.

  • Policy Adherence : Follow all policies and procedures as outlined in the Employee Handbook.
  • Qualifications :

  • Education and Experience : High school diploma or GED; one year of related experience and / or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Communication Skills : Ability to read and interpret documents, write routine reports, and speak effectively before groups.
  • Math Skills : Ability to perform basic math operations and interpret graphs.
  • Problem-Solving : Ability to solve practical problems with limited standardization.
  • Tech Savvy : Knowledge of word processing and spreadsheet software.
  • Certifications : Current food handler card and liquor service permit.
  • Physical Demands : Regularly required to stand, walk, use hands, reach with arms, and talk or hear. Occasionally required to lift / move up to 50 pounds. Reasonable accommodations available for individuals with disabilities.
