Job Title: Kids Wrestling Coach
Location: Located inside of Brunson's MMA & Fitness
Job Type: Part Time
Salary: $ 200 per month
Times: Tuesday Thursday: 5pm - 6:30pm
Job Overview:
Port City Pirates Wrestling is seeking a passionate and knowledgeable **Kids Wrestling Coach** to lead youth wrestling practices and help young athletes develop their skills, discipline, and confidence in a fun and safe environment. The ideal candidate will have experience in wrestling and coaching, strong communication skills, and a desire to mentor young athletes.
Responsibilities:
- Plan and conduct wrestling practices for kids ages [4-12years old].
- Teach fundamental and advanced wrestling techniques, including takedowns, escapes, pins, and defense.
- Foster a positive and encouraging environment that promotes sportsmanship and teamwork.
- Ensure the safety of all participants by following proper training techniques and injury prevention practices.
- Motivate and mentor young athletes to develop their confidence, discipline, and work ethic.
- Communicate with parents and provide updates on their child's progress.
- Assist with team preparation for competitions and tournaments.
- Maintain a clean and organized training space.
Qualifications:
- Previous experience in wrestling (competitive or coaching).
- Experience working with children in a coaching or mentoring role.
- Strong leadership and communication skills.
- CPR/First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain).
- Ability to create engaging and structured training sessions.
- [Optional] USA Wrestling Coach Certification or other relevant credentials.
**Preferred Qualifications:**
- Background in youth sports coaching.
- Experience competing at the high school, collegiate, or club level.
- Knowledge of strength and conditioning techniques for young athletes.
