Position Type: Full Time - 30 - 40 hrs/week

Salary Range: $19.93 - $22.43 Hourly
Travel Percentage: Occasional travel to trainings
Description
The Elder’s Services Assistant will function under the direct supervision of the Elders Program Manager and in cooperation with Tribal staff The primary function of the position is to insure Elders participation in local inter-tribal events, to regularly interact with all Elders in the community, and to assist the Elders Program Manager with data
Duties Include:
- Assists Elders Advisory Council with planning events and fundraisers
- Attends and participates in various community and staff committees whose goals directly or indirectly relate to the Port Gamble Elders Program
- Assist in the preparation, distribution, and giving of community surveys
- Facilitates transportation needs of Elders to local intertribal events
- Interacts with Tribal Elders on a regular basis to assess their well-being
- Inputs data for congregate meal billing, and tribal data base
- Other duties as assigned and appropriate for this position
Qualifications:
- Education: High School Education or Completion of GED required AA degree preferred
- Experience: Minimum of two years experience working with older adults as a case manager or Community Health Representative Experience planning and organizing small and group activities Experience in supervision of at least 2 staff
- License: Valid Washington State Drivers License
- Background Check: Able to pass a criminal background fingerprint check and drug screen
Requirements:
- Basic personal computer skills are required, as well as the ability to learn word-processing, spreadsheet and other software programs
- Filing, typing, and record keeping as needed
- Frequently required to walk, sit and reach with hands and arms
- Occasionally required to stand and lift and/or move up to 25 pounds
- Vision requirements include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus
Travel Requirements:
- Local travel required, Statewide and out of state travel may be required
