QUALIFICATIONS
- High School graduate or equivalent (GED).
- Capable of supervision and self-direction.
- Able to conduct good public relations.
- Dependable and of good moral character Familiarity with all custodial responsibilities.
- Familiar with electrical systems.
- Familiar with basic boiler operations.
- Must have successfully completed a written examination for Custodian I position (unless already in a Custodian I position).
- For promotion to this position, employee must have received better than “unsatisfactory” in the overall category on his/her most recent evaluation.

Must be physically able to bend, stoop, climb, reach, work in high places, ability to move
heavy items and lift up to fifty (50) pounds.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
- Responsible to the Director for Facilities or designee.
- Under direction of the Director for Facilities or designee, the Custodian I is responsible for performing, formulating, coordinating and supervision of the cleaning, care and safety of the building.
- Train new custodians, prepare and adjust work assignments as required by the Director for Facilities.
- Evaluate building cleaning procedures and materials suitability to building needs. Make recommendations for operation improvement.
- Requisition and maintain custodial equipment and supplies.
- Schedule preparation and disassembling of school equipment required for special purposes.
- Council, advise, and correct custodians involved in minor departmental difficulties.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the Director for Facilities or designee.
- Conducts himself/herself n a professional manner commensurate with his/her position and project a good public image of the School District in dealing with the community and employee groups.
