The Accounts Receivable Specialist plays a pivotal role in supporting the company's financial operations. Key responsibilities include preparing, posting, verifying, and recording customer payments and transactions related to accounts receivable and other financial matters as assigned by the Controller. The ideal candidate possesses a solid understanding of accounting fundamentals and exceptional office support skills, upholding the company's Mission/Vision/Values.
Key Qualifications:
• Proficient in computerized systems
• Prior experience in credit/collection, with knowledge of general ledger debits and credits
• Effective prioritization, multi-tasking, and communication skills
• High degree of accuracy, attention to detail, and ability to follow through
• Ability to maintain confidentiality and work independently
Essential Functions:
• Manage Olympic Water & Sewer (OWSI) and Property Management accounts receivable, processing monthly billings, applying payments, and researching new services as needed.
• Reconcile daily reports to bank credit cards and deposits, clear checks, and maintain General Ledger entries and reconciliations
• Oversee Fixed Asset Management and reconcile it to the General Ledger
• Monitor multiple email accounts and forward relevant information to responsible personnel
• Handle OWSI accounting tasks, including IWEB payments, service change requests, and late letters
• Review past-due accounts to determine collectibility and recommend action on non-collectible or skip accounts
• Ensure timely letter sending for delinquent accounts
Work Environment:
Office environment, with occasional lifting of up to 20 pounds, files, records, etc., and prolonged periods of sitting.
Pay Range: $24.00 - $28.00 per hour (dependent on experience)
