What are the responsibilities and job description for the Bartender position at Port Ludlow Associates?
POSITION OVERVIEW: As the bartender, you are responsible for ensuring that our guests enjoy a superior dining experience by providing courteous, professional and friendly service. You are the subject matter expert on the Fireside beverage program, you maintain standards and consistency in preparing beverages, and are able to share your expertise, including your knowledge of wines, with guests and other staff members. All tasks and interactions are done in a way that upholds the company’s mission, vision, and values.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Current food handler’s permit and liquor permits or ability to obtain prior to hire
- Must be at least 21 years old
- At least 2 years prior bartending experience in a similar position
- In-depth knowledge of drink recipes, cocktail preparation and mixology trends
- Familiarity with POS systems and cash handling procedures
- Demonstrated ability to work as a team and work independently
- Excellent attention to detail
- Must be able to be on feet for long periods of time, go up and down stairs, walk, bend, reach, stoop, lift and carry up to 25 pounds
- Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Prepare and serve alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages
- Follow standards for portion control and consistency when preparing beverages
- Interact with guests in a friendly and professional manner, building rapport and ensuring a positive experience
- Take orders, suggest drink options, and make recommendations to guests
- Communicate with kitchen and front of house staff to ensure accurate and timely order delivery
- Maintain a clean and organized bar and ensure bar is stocked at the beginning of shift and remains stocked throughout the shift
- Ensure all banquet bars are preset for events
- Adhere to all relevant alcohol service regulations and policies to promote responsible drinking and ensure legal compliance
- Complete a regular bar inventory including monitoring stock levels, replenishing supplies and recording wastage
- Assist with training new front of house staff, sharing expertise and providing guidance to maintain consistent service quality
- Other duties as requested and assigned by your manager

PAY RANGE
$17.00 - $19.00 plus tips
