F&B Server
General Position Summary:
Provides Spectacular Customer Service, sets and resets tables, cleans dining area and assists Food and Beverage staff as needed
Essential Functions/Major Responsibilities:
- Works collaboratively with F&B team members to provide services to guests
- Following Port Madison Enterprises (PME) policies and procedures and health and safety standards
- Strives to uphold and promote PMEs service standards and greets guests in a friendly and welcoming manner
- Possess a working knowledge of menu selections and is able to make recommendations to guests
- Understands and exercises professional judgment relative to alcohol service
- Ability to make beverage recommendations to guests
- Completes cash transactions consistent with PMEs cash handling policies
- Adheres to all required alcohol service regulations and follows the training for intervention procedures consistently
- Adheres to PMEs dress code standards
Secondary Functions:
- May assist in the set-up of events as necessary to food and beverage needs
- May be assigned to work and assist with beverage cart service and/or barbecue area
- Beverage cart operations must be 21 years of age and hold TIPS permit Class 12 Mixologist certification
- Other duties as assigned by management
Specific Job Skills:
- Organized and able to carry out tasks at the direction of the supervisor
- Has a working knowledge of food handling and follows health and safety standards
- Ability to communicate professionally with both guests and employees
- Able to work well with others in a spirit of corporation and mutual respect
Education and/or Experience:
High School Diploma or GED, preferred. High school students must comply with the Student Employee Policy as outlined in the Port Madison Employee Handbook. Some food preparation training helpful. One year of food handling experience necessary. Food handlers card required within 30 days of employment. Must successfully obtain a tips card within 60 days of employment (18 to 20 years of age must obtain Class 13 and 21 years of age or older, must obtain Class 12 Mixologist certification).
Job Conditions:
Working conditions include working in the Dining Room during busy times of the day and night, noisy and crowded conditions. Conditions will also include frequent interruptions, evenings, weekends and holidays.
Physical Requirements:
Has the ability to lift 50 lbs. while standing, twisting, or bending. Must be able to stand for extended periods of time and have manual and finger dexterity for handling, serving dishes, and other equipment.
