Cart & Range Attendant
General Position Summary:
Assists with the daily operations of the golf course to include cleaning and staging of the golf cart fleet. Responsible to picking and washing driving range balls, while ensuring an exceptional product for sale to guests. Attendant will be proficient in many of the daily golf course operations in an effort to assist Assistant Golf Professional and Golf Pro Shop Clerks.
Essential Functions/Major Responsibilities:
- Provides Spectacular Service to include professional advice and assistance to guests in keeping with the division’s goals
- Responsible for staging carts which includes cleaning, charging and checking carts after each use and returning cars to cart barn at the end of each day
- Inspects and dusts carts daily prior to assignment and notes needed repairs
- Oversees the distribution of carts while reviewing tee times to insure cart availability
- Ability to operate golf carts and range carts,
- Ensures the practice range is open and ready for guests in the morning and will pick, clean and fill dispensers with range balls throughout the day
- Works closely with Pro Shop team and all departments to prepare for and conduct tournaments
- Follows all safety policies and procedures in all situations
Secondary Functions:
- Responsible to be well informed of all golf course activities as well as Port Madison Enterprises promotions which may impact the golf club
- Promotes all aspects of Port Madison Enterprises
- Maintains an excellent driving record
- Maintains a neat and organized work station at all times
- Other duties as assigned
Specific Job Skills:
- Excellent communication skills, both written and oral
- Knowledgeable in golf terminology and etiquette
- Communicates with golfers and colleagues in a professional and courteous manner
- Works within the Student Employee Policy requirements
- Good organizational skills and problem-solving skills
- Must possess a valid State of WA driver’s license with an excellent driving record
- Ability to operate a motorized and electric driven vehicle in a proficient and safe manner
Qualifications
Education and/or Experience:
- High School diploma or GED preferred
- Must be sixteen (16) years of age, at a minimum
Job Conditions:
Working conditions include outside in various weather conditions to include heat, rain and various temperatures. Conditions include frequent interruptions, evenings, weekends and holidays. High School students fulfilling this position may not be left alone during business hours (i.e., may not assume responsibility of securing operation in the evening).
Physical Requirements:
Ability to lift up to 75 lbs. While standing, twisting or bending. Must be able to stand/sit for extended periods of time. Manual and finger dexterity for operation of personal computers, adding machine and routine paperwork.
