Accounting Specialist II
General Position Summary:
Responsible for the general functions of the Accounting Department operations as directed by the Accounting Manager and Controller.
Essential Functions/Major Responsibilities:
- Performs general accounting functions and assists with inventories and revenue audits as assigned.
- Responsible to process account payable checks on a regular schedule and in a timely manner
- Responsible to maintain reports and files for the accounts payable processing
- Responsible to input credit and debits into the accounting system
- Other duties as assigned
Secondary Functions:
- Performs other accounting duties as deemed necessary, including writing accounting procedures, preparing journal entries, and budget preparation.
Specific Job Skills:
- Knowledge of journal entries, general ledgers, gaming and financial software, MAS 500, spreadsheets (Excel), Microsoft Office Suite, payrolls, revenue audits, accounting procedures and audit principals.
- Accurate and timely handling of assigned tasks.
- Typing and/or word processing and filing.
- Good communication skills (including listening, writing and speaking).
- Ability to follow directions.
- Ability to problem solve.
- Ability to function in a team-orientated environment
- Assists with supervising, and training
Education and/or Experience:
High School diploma or GED required. Five (5) years of accounting experience and/ or training required. Knowledge of accounting software is required.
Job Conditions:
Working conditions include working in an office setting with a computer and other equipment. Other working conditions may include working alone, frequent interruptions, evening and/or weekends.
Physical Requirements:
Manual and finger dexterity for operation of personal computers, adding machine and routine paperwork. Ability to sit for extended periods of time. Must be able to lift 30 lb.
