This position, under the general supervision of the Organizational Development Manager, is responsible for supporting the Human Resource department for the Port of Corpus Christi Authority (PCCA).

This is an internship position. Candidates shall be enrolled in an accredited college or university majoring in human resources; business or education with demonstrated written and oral proficiency in the English language; proficiency in Spanish preferred. Strong writing, editing and graphic communication skills, organizational and time management skills; ability to operate a personal computer and a variety of programs, office equipment, and internet. Must deal effectively with the public and varying levels of management.

Essential Functions:
- Provides administrative and general support to Human Resources in a professional and confidential manner; adheres to Port policy and works toward maintaining the integrity of the Port and HR department.
- Provides support to the activities of the three divisions of the Human Resources department: Benefits and Wellbeing, Employee Services, and Organizational Development
- Assists with arranging meetings and attends related meetings when necessary.
- Supports the coordination of logistics for training activities including venues and equipment and assists in the coordination off-site training activities for employees as needed.
- Assists in organizing and promoting training opportunities for employees.
- Supports the activities of the PCCA Internship program in a professional, engaging, poised, and respectful manner
- Maintains employee training records and documents PCCA training activities utilizing database software
- Offers assistance at the front desk area if needed.
- Adheres to PCCA policy and maintains good employee relations.
- Assists the Human Resources department with special projects as directed and performs other duties as assigned.
Additional Physical Factors:
While performing duties the employee is regularly required to sit, speak or hear, use hand-to-finger movements; frequently required to stand, walk, reach, stoop, kneel, and lift and/or move up to 30 pounds.
