Position Summary :
Responsible for learning all areas of gate operations at Bayport and Barbour's Cut, Logistics Coordinators, Customer Service, Billing, Hazardous &Research. This position will work closely with the gate managers and have exposure to all aspects of the gate process and other departments within Port Houston, observing the relationship of cross-functional teams.
Responsibilities / Duties :
- Work closely with each terminal's gate departments and assist gate operations and the customer service Team.
- Interface with truck drivers to assist with gate transactions and yard instructions.
- Statistical data collection and analysis
- Review and comprehend weekly statistical reports.
- Become familiar with terminal operating systems (TOS) and gate operating systems (GOS) including N4, XPS, and Lynx
- Exposure to cross-functional teams : Yard Planning, Vessel Operations, Safety policies and enforcement, etc.
- Attending internal and external meetings to understand business decisions.
- Act in accordance with Port Houston core values (respect, excellence, accountability, diligence, and you).
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Eligibility Requirements :
2026 / 2027 graduation status preferred (junior / senior level)
