CURRENT OPENINGS FOR 2200-0600 and 1800-0400, (various days as needed), possible afternoon  and other evening shifts (as needed). The more flexible you are the more opportunities are waiting for you.

Starting pay: $17.00 to $18.50 per hour depending on the position AND Restricted Area Security Experience.

(Emergency/last minute/special projects calls will be paid at the higher level and/or bonus) 

Responsibilities and Duties

• Provide Homeland Security services at critical infrastructure maritime port facilities while complying with stringent government regulations
• Ensure personal safety of staff, visitors and property
• Maintain working knowledge of locations of various buildings, access routes and admitting requirements
• Respond and investigate appropriately to situations reported
• Check identification and badges of persons entering the facility
• Screening of individuals and baggage when necessary
• Conduct vehicle inspections when necessary
• Open and close facility, ensure that visitors have left the premises
• Report any maintenance or security issues to the proper authorities
• Maintain logs and records of occurrences
• Complete any necessary paperwork and potentially utilize a computer to input or update data for incident reports
• Secures premises and personnel by providing access control; monitoring surveillance equipment; permitting entry and restraining trespassers, and providing customer assistance.

Qualifications and Skills Requirements:

• Possess VALID NJ Security Officer License (SORA)
• Have a VALID TWIC card
• Have a VALID Driver’s License
• Minimum High School Diploma or GED, or equivalent experience - Higher Education is a plus
• Have reliable transportation
• Be able to pass a Drug Test and Background Check
• Be fluent in English (read, write and speak)
• Have basic computer knowledge

Shifts are VARIABLE and may include some Weekends

Minimum of 6 months-1 year of prior security experience

Our Security Officers are responsible for providing security services at critical infrastructure facilities, regulated under the Maritime Transportation Security Act of 2002 while complying with stringent government regulations. Our guards work in conjunction with the Department of Homeland Security, Customs and Border Patrol, and the United States Coast Guard securing our ports and waterfront facilities.

Work sites include high profile locations. Working at critical infrastructure maritime facilities requires a working knowledge and understanding of Maritime security duties and functions. As a result, accepted job applicants will receive paid online as well as in-person on the job training at various posts to become a port security specialist. Applicants with Petroleum Marine Terminal experience is highly preferred and may be considered for additional responsibilities within the company.
