QUALIFICATIONS
- Professional certificate in Washington State as a Registered Physical Therapist
- Experience with children, ages 3-21 years old, in public schools.
- Washington State Physical Therapist Educational Staff Associate (ESA) or ability to obtain the ESA.
- The Physical Therapist is supervised by the Executive Director of Special Services in compliance with the policies of the Port Townsend School District.
PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES
- The main role of the Physical Therapist (PT) is to provide specific physical therapy services and consultation to qualifying students.
- Work in partnership with families and classroom teachers on IEP development and implementation to achieve maximum student success.
- Collaborate with other team members on the MDT to complete referrals, assessments, make recommendations, design intervention plans and coordinate the implementation of plans.
- Collaborate with Special Education staff (including itinerant providers and paraprofessionals) to provide quality educational programs for identified students, assess and monitor student progress, evaluate and modify programs, participate in IEPs, consult with staff to ensure that students are making progress and accessing FAPE, train staff, and demonstrate flexibility in working in a changing educational environment.
- Collaborate with staff to ensure the smooth transition of students moving between programs.
- Evaluate students as part of the Child find process.
- Maintain and submit information/records including student progress.

Salary Range: Depending on Experience; 2024-25 Salary Range is currently set at $60,000 - $116,667 annually.
Note: Salary range will be increased for the 2025-26 school year, based on the legislative IPD (Implicit Price Deflator) percentage. Salary range will be pro-rated based on the .4 FTE positon.
BENEFITS:
Benefits include Sick Leave, Personal Leave, Medical, Dental, Vision, AD&D, and Basic Life insurance coverages for those meeting the 630 work hour requirement. Retirement is through the WA State Department of Retirement, plans available: TERS Plan 2 or TERS Plan 3.
Note: Benefits may not be available due to the limited number of hours in this position.
