What are the responsibilities and job description for the Marina Attendant position at PORT32 Marinas?
PORT 32 Jacksonville is a first-class wet slip marina offering resort style amenities and superior customer service to our members. We are looking for a part-time dock hand with the possibility of going full-time available a minimum two days during the week plus weekends. Dockhands are responsible for the safe mooring of vessels and general operations of the docks by facilitating and assisting in the arrival and departure of vessels, maintaining a safe and clean environment, and acting as the initial liaison between members and the marina management team. An ideal candidate has a proven track record of going above and beyond in customer service situations, is self-sufficient, shows initiative, not afraid of getting their hands dirty, and loves working outdoors on the water.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities (other duties may be assigned):
- Carries out routine cleaning and maintenance duties that meet established quality standards for all marina-related operations; ensures the recognized standards are maintained and that quality and delivery commitments are met.
- Perform weekly routine black water pumpouts.
- Provide weekend customer service, covering marina front desk by being the face of the property in the absence of the Dockmaster.
- Assists the Dockmaster and other dockhands in marina-related duties such as securing boats to docks and connecting and monitoring utility services (shore-power and water)
- Maintain and monitor restrooms, pool, clubhouse, docks, walkways, ramp-ways, grounds, equipment, and other areas designated by the Dockmaster.
- Provides general security and supports marina and facility security teams in their security-related efforts; reports disturbances in the dock area to superiors and maintains general vigilance.
- Assists dock team by carrying out routine marina maintenance.
- Complying with instructions or duties as may be reasonably assigned.
Required Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities:
- Line handling skills including ability to toss, catch, and tie cleat lines.
- Unlimited or unimpaired ability to walk, bend, stoop, climb, and work safely around water, on a ladder, or in confined spaces.
- Ability to spend full shift outdoors.
- Ability to lift up to 70 pounds.
- Ability to show initiative and be self-sufficient.
- Exceptional customer service and communication skills.

Business hours 8a-5p M-F, 10a-3p weekends. Marina open year-round including holidays with the exception of Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years Day. Summer holidays required. The marina frequently hosts member events. Mostly afternoon but occasional event hours until 10:00p required.
Must be 18 years or older.
