Job Overview
We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented individual to join our team as a Bus Maintenance Trainee. In this role, you will have the opportunity to develop your skills in the maintenance and repair of transit buses under the guidance of experienced mentors.
In this two-year training program, you will gain hands-on experience in basic, intermediate, and advanced transit bus maintenance. You will work closely with trained mechanics to acquire the knowledge and skills required to perform routine maintenance tasks, repairs, and inspections on transit buses.
The ideal candidate will possess excellent problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and a strong commitment to safety protocols. You will be expected to complete all formal training requirements and progress through the training program to achieve the next level of certification as a Journeyman Mechanic.
Licensure or Certification Requirements
A valid State of Ohio Driver's License with no more than two points is required at the time of hire. Successful completion of previous employment verification, a criminal background investigation, and a post-offer Department of Transportation (DOT) medical examination including drug screen prior to hire is also necessary.
