Job Description
We are looking for a skilled and ambitious individual to fill the position of Public Transit Vehicle Mechanic Learner. As a member of our team, you will undergo extensive training to become proficient in the maintenance and repair of public transit vehicles.
This two-year training program will provide you with hands-on experience in basic, intermediate, and advanced transit bus maintenance. You will work closely with experienced mechanics to develop your skills in the operation, maintenance, inspection, and repair of vehicles and buses. Additionally, you will be responsible for completing all formal training as assigned and progressing through the training program to achieve the next level of certification as a Journeyman Mechanic.
The successful candidate will possess excellent problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and a strong commitment to safety protocols. They will be expected to perform work safely, follow safety work rules, guidelines, and procedures, and exercise maximum care and good judgment to prevent injury and accidents from occurring.
Requirements
A valid State of Ohio Driver's License with no more than two points is required at the time of hire. Successful completion of previous employment verification, a criminal background investigation, and a post-offer Department of Transportation (DOT) medical examination including drug screen prior to hire is also necessary.
