Guidance Counselor Portage High SchoolSchool counselors work to maximize student success, promoting access and equity for all students. Duties and Responsibilities : Assist students with academic planning and goal setting Collaboration with families / teachers / administrators / community to achieve student success Advocate for students at IEP meeting and other student focused meetings Data analysis to identify student issues, needs, and challenges Acting as a systems change agent to improve equity and access, achievement and opportunities for all students Assist students in planning for post secondary options (higher education, military, work force) All other duties as assigned Minimal Qualifications : Master's Degree in school counseling preferred Meet the state certification / licensure standards Fulfill CE requirements Uphold ASCA ethical and professional standards.
