Summary:
Portage Country Club seeks an efficient self-starter to deliver an exemplary experience to our members and guests. We offer year-round Food & Beverage services in multiple dining settings and are hosted to banquets and private events, golf tournaments, swim team events, and tennis programming.
Essential Job Duties:
As a houseperson at Portage Country Club, you will:
- Focus on details to provide the highest quality of service to all members and guests of members.
- Strive for continuous improvement in knowledge, quality, consistency, service, products, work environment, safety, wellness, and member satisfaction.
- Maintain company culture by interacting with team members and senior staff with respect.
- Manage safety compliance measures in tandem with HR and the Safety Committee.
- Set up and tear down banquets and events; the tables, chairs, equipment, etc. according to the instructions provided by the Food & Beverage Director or Events Manager
- Assist servers in their set up, service, and clean up tasks.
- Keep all rooms, “Room Ready”
- Able to direct others to get flips done in a timely manner.
- Clean dining room areas.
- Clean and stores child highchairs and booster seats.
- Collect soiled linens from dining room; transfers linens to pick up area.
- Wash inside and outside of all Clubhouse windows.
- Assist in minor, light maintenance tasks.
- Report damaged or broken fixtures or equipment to Maintenance Manager or Food & Beverage Director.
- If you see something, say something! Report all problems and maintenance issues to the supervisor.
- Flexible hours, some nights and weekends
Physical Requirements:
- Must be able to stand and continuously move for the duration of a regular shift.
- Must be able to maneuver, bend, twist, pivot, and navigate stairs.
- Must be able to lift heavy objects including tables, buffets, bars, and furniture on a regular basis
Educational and/or Experience Requirements:
- Some experience working in a hospitality setting.
- Some experience working in the events industry, specifically set up and tear down.
- Strong listening and communication skills.
- Ability to self-govern, prioritize work, and work rapidly and efficiently.
- Ability to retain information and execute accordingly.
- Professional in manners, dress, and grooming.
- Demonstrated knowledge and ability to adhere to quality standards for safety, sanitation, and food handling.
Date Position Available:
Mid-April
Rate of Pay:
$16-$20 hr. based on experience
