What are the responsibilities and job description for the Lifeguard position at Portage Country Club?
The Portage Country Club is looking for lifeguards to join our team this summer
Report to: Aquatics Director
Key Responsibilities:
Supervision and Observation:
- Actively monitor the water area for potential hazards and unsafe conditions.
- Identify and address any issues that could endanger swimmers, such as rough play or unauthorized activities.
- Ensure that all patrons are aware of and following the rules and regulations of the facility.
- Respond quickly and effectively to emergencies, including drowning incidents, injuries, and medical emergencies.
- Perform water rescues using appropriate techniques and equipment.
- Administer first aid and CPR as needed.
Skills and Qualifications:
- Strong swimming skills.
- CPR and first aid certification.
- Lifeguard certification.
- Ability to remain calm and focused under pressure.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to enforce rules and regulations.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Knowledge of water safety and rescue techniques.
