Portage Country Club seeks dynamic customer service-oriented Pool Bartenders to deliver an exemplary dining experience to our private members. We offer year-round Food and Beverage services in multiple dining settings and are host to banquets and private events, golf tournaments, swim team events, and tennis programming.
Essential Job Duties :
As a Pool Bartender at Portage Country Club, you will :
- Focus on details to provide the highest quality of service to all members and guests.
- Strive for continuous improvement in knowledge, quality, consistency, service, products, work environment, safety, wellness, and member satisfaction.
- Maintain company culture by interacting with team members and senior staff with respect.
- Prepare and serve alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages.
- Take orders and serve members and their guests in the bar and lounge area, focusing on prompt and courteous service according to established service standards.
- Fill all orders requested by servers.
- Use marketing and sales strategies to build rapport with members and guests and promote awareness and encourage attendance of club events.
- Keep bar clean and well-stocked; including but not limited to stocking beverage supplies, glassware, hardware, paper supplies, and cleaning supplies, filling and cleaning sinks, washing glassware and equipment, wiping bars, taking out the trash, and sweeping the floor.
- Answer questions about our food, beverages, and other restaurant functions and services.
- Monitor and observe guest’s dining experience. Ensure guests are satisfied with their drinks and service. Respond promptly and courteously to any requests.
- Ensure drinks are charged accurately and to the correct member’s account and manage payments for cash bar.
- Observe cost controls by measuring pours and making sure extras are charged to the member’s account.
- Clean and lock bar cabinets before leaving.
- Perform closing activities if scheduled; including but not limited to ensuring that all lights in the building are off, all equipment, including the coffee machine, is powered off, all candles are out, tables cleared, POS system is closed, and all storerooms and doors are locked.
- If you see something, say something! Report all problems and maintenance issues to your supervisor.
