Porter & Co. is the leading publisher of world-class financial research for self-directed investors . As we expand, we are seeking a highly motivated  Corporate Counsel  to join our legal team. This role is designed for an ambitious legal professional eager to develop their expertise and grow into a  General Counsel  position over time.

Role Overview :

As a  Corporate Counsel , you will support the business in advising on corporate, commercial, regulatory, and compliance matters. You will work closely with various departments, gaining exposure to the legal and strategic aspects of the business. This role provides a clear growth path to  General Counsel , offering hands-on experience, and leadership opportunities.

Key Responsibilities :

• Assist in drafting, reviewing, and negotiating contracts, agreements, and legal documents.
• Become an expert in the Publisher’s Exemption, an exclusion under the Advisers Act that exempts publishers of certain publications from being considered investment advisers.
• Ensure compliance with all state and federal regulations applicable to the business.
• Review all marketing materials and associated collateral.
• Conduct legal research and provide strategic recommendations.
• Identify and mitigate legal risks across various business functions.
• Assist in managing disputes, litigation, and liaising with external legal counsel as necessary.
• Educate and train employees on legal best practices and enforce company policies.
• Support M&A, partnerships, and business expansion initiatives.
