Porter-Gaud is an Episcopal, co-educational day school serving more than 1,000 students in grades 1-12. The O'Quinn Schools of Porter-Gaud serve an additional 600 preschool students from age two through kindergarten. The O'Quinn Schools are seeking an enthusiastic Administrative Assistant to join our team at the Mount Pleasant Campus! The Administrative Assistant plays a vital role in ensuring the smooth daily operations of the School by supporting leadership, faculty, families, and visitors with professionalism and care. This role requires a detail-oriented, organized, and proactive individual who thrives in a dynamic environment and is committed to providing exceptional service.
Position Details:
Schedule: Five days per week
Hours: 40 hours per week
Primary Responsibilities:This position encompasses four primary areas:
- Phones/Communications:
- Serve as the first point of contact for incoming calls and visitors
- Respond to inquiries and direct communications appropriately and professionally
- Maintain a welcoming and helpful front-office presence
- Provide administrative support to school leadership, faculty, and staff
- Assist with scheduling, event coordination, and document preparation
- Maintain confidential records and data with discretion
- Assist with tracking and maintaining compliance with licensing requirements
- Prepare and organize documentation for inspections, renewals, and audits
- Support the Director in ensuring all regulatory obligations are met
- Perform general office duties including filing, copying, scanning, and mail distribution
- Manage office supplies and inventory
- Assist with student records, attendance, and other operational tasks as needed
The Administrative Assistant may also take on other duties throughout the year as requested by the Director or based on school needs.
Minimum Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent required; college degree preferred
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and adapt to changing situations
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and/or Google Workspace
- Discretion in handling sensitive and confidential information
- Ability to work collaboratively and independently
- Previous experience in a school or office setting preferred
Salary: Commensurate with experience
