Production Worker

Porter Industries is a steel fabrication shop located in Franklin Furnace, Ohio and has an opening for an experienced Production Worker for first (1st) shift, four (4) – ten (10) hour days, 7:00 a.m. – 5:30 p.m., Monday through Thursday, occasional overtime. Applicants will be subject to drug testing, background check and a driving record check.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS/EXPERIENCE:

· Must be at least 21 years of age

· Must have a valid driver's license and a clean driving record

· Must be able to legally work in the US

· Must have valid transportation to and from Franklin Furnace, Ohio

· Ability to lift, load and deliver products

· Excellent communication, organization and decision-making skills

· Exhibit high levels of customer service, integrity and initiative

· High school or equivalent

· Experience in driving truck/trailer required

· Experience in a production warehouse/shop required

· Experience in a steel fabrication shop beneficial but not required

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

· Steel Fabrication

· Welding

· Blueprint Reading

· Assisting with loading raw materials, transporting materials, monitoring stock levels, and helping with shipping procedures

· Accurately read a tape measure

· Inspecting and testing: Ensuring completed steel products meet quality standards

· Maintaining and repairing: Keeping steel structures and products in good condition

· Operating machinery: Using heavy machinery and equipment, such as cranes and forklifts, to move and position steel components

· Setting up and maintaining: Preparing and maintaining the machinery used in production

· Cutting and shaping: Using tools and equipment to cut, shape and assemble steel components

· Laying out: Marking cutting lines and accurately laying out dimensions

· Fitting: Fitting fabricated steel items

· Organizing: Moving stock and assembling and packing products

· Loading: Assist with loading and unloading items

· Receiving: Assist in receiving deliveries, ensuring accuracy and keeping track of inventory

· Driving: Delivering products to costumers and picking up materials from various vendors

· Follow all safety procedures

· Comply with all company, local, state, federal and other applicable safety and driving laws and regulations

· Prepare and maintain accurate documentation and reports according to company, local, state, federal and other applicable laws and regulations

· Maintain the company vehicle and/or trailer

Physical Requirements:

· Ability to safely use and lift items weighing 50 pounds regularly (and up to 100 pounds with assistance)

· Ability to work while standing for long periods of time

· Ability to bend, stoop, walk and climb

· Ability to work in adverse weather or temperature conditions

· Ability to wear and work in personal protective equipment

· Ability to drive a truck and haul a trailer

· Ability to take and pass a drug test

· Applicant will be subject to a background and driving record check
