The Role:
The Inventory Specialist role plays a critical part in the day-to-day operation of our warehouses, responsible for overseeing the accurate management and organization of inventory, ensuring that the warehouse operates efficiently and that stock levels meet operational and customer needs.
This is a full-time hourly position requiring your presence at our warehouse facility on a daily basis. The typical hours are 8am - 4pm. The compensation for this role ranges from $18 - $21 / hour.
Day-to-Day Responsibilities:
- Performing Cycle Counts: Regularly checking different sections of client's inventory to verify accuracy and identify and discrepancies
- Reconciling Discrepancies: Investigating and resolving any differences between physical inventory and recorded inventory levels
- WMS Management: Update and maintain inventory records in Porter's WMS and compare against our client's WMS
- Cross-functional Partnership: Partner with the warehouse team, operations leadership, the customer success team, and clients regarding inventory needs or issues
Skills Needed to be Successful as our Inventory Specialist:
- 1-3 years of experience in a warehouse environment, previous inventory experience preferred
- Hyper-attention to detail with incredible organization skills
- Strong communication skills with the ability to work with various internal and external teams
- Basic proficiency in MS Excel
- Previous exposure to a WMS system
