Description
Porter Scott, Sacramento's premiere civil litigation firm, has an immediate need for a Controller. Duties include but are not limited to the Oversight and management of the overall finances of the firm. In charge of accounting, budgeting, reporting, overseeing cash flow and performing risk management and compliance functions. Maintains corporate records. Prepares various reports. Supervises billing and accounts payable staff. Prepare documents for shareholder meetings. Must have and accounting, finance or similar degree, and/or CPA license. Prior experience with overseeing financial functions of a professional corporation or similar business required. Prior knowledge or experience with TABS computerized accounting and billing software preferred. General duties are as follows:
- Prepare monthly financial statements, status reports, financial evaluations and budgets.
- Monitor cash flow and payables daily.
- Coordinate all information and reports necessary to ensure timely preparation and filing of tax returns for firm, pension plan payments, and other government reporting requirements and surveys on a monthly, quarterly, and annual basis.
- Monitor and oversee bank accounts and act as the firm’s liaison with bank on all accounts and line of credit.
- Act as the firm's liaison with outside public accountant.
- Supervise the billing team, E-invoice Coordinator and Accounts Payable staff.
- Work with and assist Managing Shareholder with financial management of firm including preparation of documents for management meetings.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in finance or accounting required
- CPA license required
- Prior experience working in a law firm highly desirable
- Experience leading or managing a team highly desirable
- Salary $120-$145k annually DOE
Salary : $120,000 - $145,000
