Position Summary
Position Overview
The Dishwasher plays a crucial role in maintaining the cleanliness and efficiency of the kitchen, bar, and dining areas. This position ensures that all dishware, utensils, glassware, and kitchen tools are cleaned and sanitized to health and safety standards. The Dishwasher also assists with basic prep work, waste management, and overall kitchen organization. A strong work ethic, attention to detail, and ability to work in a fast-paced environment are essential.
Essential Functions

- Clean and sanitize all dishware, utensils, glassware, and kitchen tools using a commercial dishwashing machine or by hand as needed.
- Maintain a clean and organized dish station and kitchen workspace.
- Properly sort, store, and transport clean dishes to their designated locations.
- Assist with receiving and stocking kitchen deliveries, ensuring proper storage and rotation of food and supplies.
- Remove trash and recyclables regularly, maintaining cleanliness and organization in waste disposal areas.
- Ensure compliance with food safety and sanitation regulations, including proper chemical usage for cleaning and sanitizing.
- Assist kitchen staff with basic prep work as needed, such as washing produce, peeling vegetables, or portioning ingredients.
- Support front-of-house staff by ensuring glassware and bar tools are clean and available during service.
- Work efficiently to keep up with a fast-paced kitchen and bar environment, especially during peak service hours.
- Maintain the cleanliness of floors, drains, sinks, and general back-of-house workspaces.
- Assist in deep cleaning tasks, including scrubbing equipment, cleaning walls, and detailing surfaces as assigned.
- Ensure kitchen linens, towels, and rags are properly laundered and stored.
- Collaborate with the entire team to support smooth kitchen and bar operations
- Be prepared to work in both indoor and outdoor environments, supporting special events, catering functions, and large-scale service when needed.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Ability to work efficiently in a high-paced environment.
- Strong organizational skills with attention to detail.

- Basic understanding of food safety, sanitation, and health code regulations.
- Ability to handle cleaning chemicals safely and follow proper guidelines.

Education/Experience
- 1 year experience working in a kitchen or hospitality setting preferred but not required.
- Food Handler’s Permit required or willingness to obtain upon hire.
- Previous experience working with commercial dishwashing equipment is a plus.
- Experience in high-volume service environments is a plus.
