Compensation range: $120,000-$130,000/annually Management Bonus

 

Location: Seattle

Position Summary

We are looking for a passionate and strategic Senior Director of Operations to oversee the performance and growth of our spaces. This role is ideal for a dynamic leader with experience in multi-unit café or restaurant operations, dedicated to delivering exceptional guest experiences, streamlining operational efficiencies, and driving profitability. 

 

As a key executive team member, you will lead operations, ensure brand consistency, develop scalable processes, and build high-performing teams. Your expertise will be crucial in expanding our café presence while maintaining a strong company culture and customer-centric approach. 

 

Essential Functions

Operational Leadership 

  • Oversee daily operations across multiple locations, ensuring seamless service and operational excellence. 
  • Develop and implement best practices for store operations, including workflow efficiency, inventory management, and customer service standards. 
  • Monitor outlet performance through regular site visits, coaching managers on operational improvements and team leadership. 
  • Ensure compliance with food safety, health regulations, and brand standards. 

 

Financial & Performance Management 

  • Own the financial success of the spaces, driving revenue growth, cost control, and overall profitability. 
  • Develop and manage budgets, forecasts, and P&L reports, ensuring financial goals are met. 
  • Identify opportunities to optimize labor, supply costs, and pricing strategies while maintaining quality and service excellence. 
  • Analyze sales trends and implement strategies to increase average ticket size, customer retention, and efficiency. 

 

Guest Experience & Brand Standards 

  • Elevate the customer experience by ensuring high standards of service, product quality, and store atmosphere. 
  • Implement training programs to enhance product knowledge, and hospitality culture. 
  • Monitor customer feedback, online reviews, and operational metrics to drive continuous improvement. 
  • Work with marketing teams to develop promotions, seasonal offerings, and community engagement initiatives. 

 

Team Development & Leadership 

  • Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing team of café managers and staff, fostering a positive and collaborative work culture. 
  • Create and implement leadership development programs to build future café leaders from within the organization. 
  • Establish clear goals, performance metrics, and accountability measures for teams. 
  • Oversee staffing needs, recruitment, and retention strategies to ensure smooth operations. 

 

Strategic Growth & Expansion 

  • Partner with executive leadership to develop strategies for scaling café operations, opening new locations, and enhancing brand presence. 
  • Identify new revenue opportunities, including catering, online ordering, and strategic partnerships. 
  • Stay ahead of industry trends, customer preferences, and technology innovations to maintain a competitive edge. 
  • Develop relationships with vendors and suppliers to ensure quality, consistency, and cost-effectiveness. 

 

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities  

 

  • Excellent oral and written communication and organizational skills. 
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to work as a team with internal departments, external vendors, suppliers, and customers. 
  • Professional demeanor and appearance with ability to handle confidential issues with discretion. 
  • Self-motivated and able to make decisions and exercise prudent judgement with minimal guidance. 
  • Ability to work under pressure and to prioritize workload, adapt to changing priorities, and meet aggressive deadlines. Ability to see the big picture. 
  • Ability to create and manage an event from the planning stages through clean up while staying within budget. 
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office programs with ability to learn in house programs. 

Education/Experience 

 

  • 8 years of leadership experience in multi-unit café, quick-service, or hospitality operations. 
  • Strong background in café or restaurant management, including financial oversight and P&L management. 
  • Passion for specialty coffee, food quality, and creating an outstanding customer experience. 
  • Experience scaling operations and implementing systems for efficiency and consistency. 
  • Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills. 
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment. 
  • Proficiency in inventory management, scheduling, and POS systems. 
  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Hospitality, or a related field (preferred but not required) 

 

Salary : $120,000 - $130,000
