Portfolio Advisors is recruiting a valuation analyst to join our finance team. As a Valuation Analyst at our firm, you will play a crucial role in supporting the firm’s investment and portfolio management processes. You will be responsible for conducting financial valuations of portfolio companies and potential acquisitions. This role requires strong analytical skills, financial modeling expertise, and a solid understanding of corporate finance, accounting principles, and valuation techniques.
Responsibilities:
Valuation Modeling and Analysis
- Perform comprehensive financial valuations for target companies, including discounted cash flow (DCF), precedent transaction, and comparable company analysis.
- Develop and maintain financial models to assess company performance and investment returns.
- Prepare detailed reports and presentations on valuation results for senior investment professionals and stakeholders.
Financial Analysis and Reporting:
- Analyze and track the financial performance of portfolio companies, identifying key value drivers and areas for improvement.
- Monitor market trends, industry data, and competitor performance to inform valuation models and investment decisions.
- Support the preparation of quarterly and annual valuation reports for internal use and regulatory compliance.
Collaboration and Communication:
- Work closely with senior team members, including associates, Vice Presidents, and Managing Directors, to provide insights and assist with portfolio management decisions.
- Communicate complex valuation findings in a clear and concise manner, both in written reports and during presentations.
Market Research and Industry Expertise:
- Stay up-to-date with the latest industry trends, economic conditions, and regulatory changes that could impact valuations.
- Conduct market research to gather relevant data on comparable companies, market multiples, and other key valuation inputs.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field.
- Solid understanding of financial statements, accounting concepts, financial modeling and Level 3 valuations (both debt and equity)
- Advanced knowledge of Excel, Power Point and Word
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and manage multiple priorities.
- Detail-oriented, with a strong commitment to accuracy and quality.
- Proactive, self-motivated, and capable of working independently and as part of a team.
- Ability to think critically and contribute to strategic decision-making.
