Portland Bolt is hiring a Corporate Controller who will be responsible for the Corporate Accounting, and Tax functions at Portland Bolt and its subsidiaries. This position reports directly to the CFO and will manage members of the Finance department.

Portland Bolt is hiring a Corporate Controller who will be responsible for the Corporate Accounting, and Tax functions at Portland Bolt and its subsidiaries. This position reports directly to the CFO and will manage members of the Finance department.
Objectives & Measurement – Key Responsibilities
- Oversee core accounting functions (A/R, A/P, GL, FixedAssets, Cost Management), and lead the close and consolidation activities for PortlandBolt, its subsidiaries, and future acquisitions.
- Lead close and reconciliation procedures to support 3-day close and 5-day reporting.
- Draft, implement, and deploy Accounting policies, procedures, process documentation, and retention policies to Portland Bolt, its subsidiaries, and future acquisitions.
- Lead quarterly, semi-annual, and annual External Reporting needs including external Audit and Tax work on behalf of Portland Bolt, its entities, and its shareholders, as well as Bank reporting
- Work closely with our 3rd party IT support, as well as the internal Team, becoming an expert in our ERP (Acumatica).
- Oversee the integration of financial systems and reporting for new acquisitions, ensuring a smooth transition of accounting processes.
- Ensure proper financial controls and compliance are in place and adhered to by Portland Bolt, its subsidiaries, and future acquisitions including establishing rules and governance of multi-site, multi-entity transactions, transfer pricing, and currency conversions.
- Continuously reviewing and improving finance’s processes and procedures to achieve
- consistency, effectiveness, and efficiency.
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, CPA, and thorough knowledge and understanding of GAAP
- 7 years of progressive accounting and finance experience, including 3 years in the role of controller or assistant controller
- Accounting experience with cost accounting, job-costing, and manufacturing financials
- Experience with Mergers & Acquisitions, fast-paced Private Equity environments, and multi-entity consolidations.
- Strong technology skills and ability to utilize a network of data to fulfill duties and responsibilities.
- Ability to effectively work with large sets of data.
- Advanced financial modeling skills to develop an analysis for various business scenarios using Excel.
