What are the responsibilities and job description for the Occupational Therapist -- Functional Neurology (neuroplasticity/vestibular) rehabilitation position at Portland Chiropractic Neurology?
Have you been working in the OT field and looking for something new and exciting? A different utilization of your skills?
Our comprehensive neurological approach is that we're not just a body, and not just a brain, but an integration and interaction of the two. It's this precise interaction that occur when our brain is balanced and communicated (connected) well. If these connections break down, we experience symptoms. Functional Neurologists and OT's work to improve not only parts of the problem in the body, but also the brain, focusing on reconnecting them through skilled neuroplasticity rehab that targets the source. Each eye movement relates to a different part of the brain, we use these eye movements to detect errors and trace them back to specific parts of the brain and their neuropathways involved in the patients condition and symptoms, repairing neuropathways and thus communication throughout the body for healthy, symptom-free function. This is truly healthcare that treats the source(s) of the problem.
We are a busy Functional Neurology practice that focuses care in the new and exciting field of Neuroplasticity rehabilitation. Occupational Therapists are a very important part of our growing practice. Our OT's enjoy the rewarding aspects of direct involvement in long-term, exceptional improvements in our patients by treating the source of their neurological issues. Our team is constantly participating in resolving conditions and symptoms experienced by patients that have "tried everything." We are performing (neuroplasticity) brain rehab that specializes in neurological conditions such as Post-concussion syndrome, Vertigo, Dizziness, Dysautonomia/POTS/OI/OH, Movement Disorders, Headaches/Migraines and general neurological disorders. Our care truly impacts the lives of patients, creating long-term, permanent healing that alleviates their symptoms and improves their quality of life.

OT's are excellently poised for success in this position and are major contributors to the patient's response. Teamwork makes the brain work (and heal)!
