The Science, Computing and Engineering Pathway at Portland Community College is seeking a dynamic and knowledgeable Computer Information Systems Instructor with expertise in Cybersecurity. As a key member of our faculty, you will play a pivotal role in equipping students with the skills and insights needed to thrive in the rapidly evolving field of cybersecurity
Position is scheduled to start August 2025 at the start of PCC's Fall Term.
This instructor will prepare PCC's students for jobs at the cutting edge of technology through: the development of our CIS program, curriculum development, course instruction, and partnerships with local industry for internships and advisory boards, as well as other tasks as assigned. The position represents an outstanding opportunity to bring your expertise to lead and grow this vital academic program and to work closely with and mentor students. Related Instruction
CIS 120, 121 and 122 include embedded Related Instruction in Computation. In order to teach these courses, instructor must have completed college-level algebra or higher Math.
PCC currently funds the Oregon Public Employees Retirement System (PERS/OPSRP) pension and contributes an additional 6% into the employee's Individual Account Program under PERS/OPSRP. A portion of the 6% will be diverted to The Employee Pension Stability Account as mandated by Senate Bill 1049. PCC offers a tax deferred annuity program and a deferred compensation program where employees may save additional pre-tax dollars for retirement.
Additionally, PCC provides a tuition waiver for courses offered at PCC for yourself, domestic partner, and dependent children under 24 years of age; plus partial tuition reimbursement for yourself at other accredited institutions.
