Portland Community College seeks a professional with experience and/or education in the field of Justice Studies or Criminal Justice. Our program serves to meet the needs of a diverse community and elevate the broader discussion of issues related to community service and safety. We are searching for an individual who will help us move our program forward and provide educational opportunities to students wishing to improve outcomes in community safety and justice.

- Extensive non-teaching experience in the field of Criminal Justice
- Demonstrated expertise and knowledge of criminal justice reform in addressing specialized topics such as Mental Health, Human Trafficking, Constitutional law, Civil Liability in Criminal Justice, principles of Restorative Justice, Race and the Criminal Justice System and/or Juvenile Justice
- Experience facilitating, developing, revising, and implementing curriculum based in culturally responsive educationAbility to collaborate with colleagues and community stakeholders to further embed culturally responsive education in community and professional partnerships
- Teaching materials and techniques that substantially incorporate a wide range of cultural knowledge, experiences, and perspectives, especially from communities who have been historically under-represented
- Demonstrated analysis of crime and justice within the framework of broader social processes of inequality
Minimum Qualifications
To be considered, your application must demonstrate these minimum qualifications. (Experience is calculated based on the start and end dates you provide multiplied by the number of hours per week worked).
- MA, MS, JD or PhD in Criminal Justice, Administration of Justice or related field from an accredited college and 3 years of full time non-teaching work experience in related field
OR
- AS, BA, BS in Criminal Justice, Administration of Justice or related field from an accredited college and 5 years of full time non-teaching work experience in related field
PCC Full-Time Faculty Schedule 2022/23
PCC offers a comprehensive benefit package designed to provide employees and their families, including domestic partners, with access to a broad range of benefit options. Includes Health, Dental, and Vision options, Group Life, Long-term Disability, Long-term Care, and Auto and Home Insurance programs.
PCC currently funds the Oregon Public Employees Retirement System (PERS/OPSRP) pension and contributes an additional 6% into the employee's Individual Account Program under PERS/OPSRP. A portion of the 6% will be diverted to The Employee Pension Stability Account as mandated by Senate Bill 1049. PCC offers a tax deferred annuity program and a deferred compensation program where employees may save additional pre-tax dollars for retirement.
Additionally, PCC provides a tuition waiver for courses offered at PCC for yourself, domestic partner, and dependent children under 24 years of age; plus partial tuition reimbursement for yourself at other accredited institutions.
- Please note: Temporary Full-Time Faculty are not eligible for Personal Leave Days, Life Insurance, Long-term Disability, or AD&D Insurance.
Paid Leave:
- 1 day of sick leave for every 18 days worked (~10 per year)
- 21 hours of additional personal leave per year
- 4 paid holidays (which occur during the term you are teaching)

Salary : $64,562 - $68,491
