Position Summary
Portland Community College's ThinkBIG Caterpillar Diesel Technology program is seeking a new full-time faculty member. The ThinkBIG program is a recognized leader in preparing future technicians for the evolving industry. We are currently looking for a full-time faculty member who has up-to-date automotive repair knowledge to teach a variety of courses in our field. Examples of such courses may include : Engine Fundamentals, Engine Fuel Systems, Hydraulic Fundamentals, Generators and EPG Calculations. Experience :
A combination of Diesel / Heavy equipment teaching experience in an accredited institution and / or Diesel / Heavy Equipment service and repair experience in a commercial repair facility equal to 5 full years, and have :
complete PCC driver's training
for new equipment as necessary

Starting Salary Expectations
Initial Salary Placement will be between Step 1 ($73,911) and Step 3 (78,408) based on related experience, per PCC's collective bargaining agreement.

73911 to $118558 Annual Salary

PCC currently funds the Oregon Public Employees Retirement System (PERS / OPSRP) pension and contributes an additional 6% into the employee's Individual Account Program under PERS / OPSRP. A portion of the 6% will be diverted to The Employee Pension Stability Account as mandated by Senate Bill 1049. PCC offers a tax deferred annuity program and a deferred compensation program where employees may save additional pre-tax dollars for retirement.
Additionally, PCC provides a tuition waiver for courses offered at PCC for yourself, domestic partner, and dependent children under 24 years of age; plus partial tuition reimbursement for yourself at other accredited institutions.
Paid Leave :
1 day of sick leave for every 18 days worked (~10 per year)
21 hours of additional personal leave per year
4 paid holidays (which occur during the term you are teaching)

Instructors shall have earned required academic credentials at a regionally accredited US institution or a foreign institution having the equivalent of regional accreditation.
Instructors with credentials from other countries will have their transcripts evaluated by agencies that have good standing with the National Association of Credential Evaluation Services to establish fulfillment of this standard.
