This is a temporary position currently funded through September 30, 2027.

The Advising Department is seeking to fill a full-time Office Assistant (OA II) position through September 30, 2027, at the Cascade Campus. This position performs a wide variety of office and administrative functions, primarily in support of the Academic Advising Department. The Office Assistant may be one of the first contacts for students when they arrive at PCC. They are a key partner in helping them navigate how to access advising as well as resources across the college such as Career Services, Disability Resources, Student Accounts, Enrollment Services, Orientation, Testing, and many other areas within Student Affairs. In addition, the Office Assistant will support students, staff, or faculty using a trauma informed lens, and strong customer service skills, while problem-solving and triaging situations.


Proficiency in the full range of general office services and functions as well as specific technical knowledge, especially in the area of database and confidential reporting is desired. The ideal candidate will be versatile in supporting our students through various modalities, including virtual, in-person, phone, and email.


This position works closely with the Advising Office Assistants across the district and reports directly to the Pathway Guidance Manager at the Cascade Campus.

Student services experience and success

  • Demonstrated experience working in post-secondary environments, or a similar area, and experience supporting underrepresented students.

  • Demonstrated experience with technical knowledge, student information systems, triaging challenging situations, and timely communication. Uses a computer and a variety of office software applications including word processing, email, file management, Microsoft and Google products.
  • Experience assisting students who are seeking support, in need of a referral, and or guidance around student resources.
  • Demonstrated ability to successfully develop positive working relationships with colleagues and with strong collaboration.

Student-centered

  • Demonstrated commitment to high standards of equitable engagement and achievement for all students.

  • Able to illustrate a student-centered approach in response to challenging students and college issues; demonstrating cultural and personal sensitivity, imagination, and effectiveness in problem solving.

Minimum Qualifications

Position Grade
Positions in this job family typically work in an office setting but may be assigned more physical duties such as transporting office supplies and equipment. Position involves sitting for extended periods of time while working at a computer terminal. Some positions may involve limited local travel.

Starting Salary Expectations
The first two steps of the range are: $21.42 per hour to $22.07 per hour. Higher hourly placement may be available based on qualifications, experience and internal equity.

Paid Leave: (Pro-rated by FTE for Part-Time Employees)
  • Starts at 8 hours of vacation leave per month (additional vacation hours with years of service)
  • 8 hours of sick leave per month
- 24 hours of additional personal leave days per year - 12 Paid holidays
