What are the responsibilities and job description for the Prepared Foods Team Member at the local food co-op position at Portland Food Co-op?
We're seeking someone to join our Prepared Foods Department. Team members work together following recipes to craft delicious sandwiches, salads, burritos, and other grab-and-go items. Duties also include dish-washing and maintaining cleanliness. This position includes some sales floor and customer interaction time. We are looking for someone with solid knife skills, efficient prep abilities, the ability to acclimate to a small & fast paced kitchen, and a "clean as you go" mentality.
The schedule for this position is Friday through Tuesday with Wednesday and Thursday off. Saturday, Sunday, and Monday are closing shifts. We close at 9 PM and are out by 9:30 PM. There are no late night shifts.
We offer 3 weeks of accrued paid time off the first year, increasing to four weeks after that. We offer gold plan health, dental, and vision insurance coverage, covered at 85% for the individual and 60% for partners, children, and families.
Qualifications
- Previous experience in food service or a related industry
- Strong customer service skills
- Knowledge of food handling and sanitation practices
- Demonstrated knife skills and food preparation experience
