About the Role
We're seeking an experienced Energy Market Strategist to join our team. As a key member of our analytics department, you will be responsible for developing and implementing energy market strategies that drive business growth and profitability. Your expertise in quantitative analysis will help us make informed decisions about energy market trends, risk management, and portfolio optimization.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement energy market strategies that drive business growth and profitability.
- Analyze market trends and develop forecasts to inform business decisions.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify opportunities for growth and improvement.
- Provide technical support for various business functions, including trading, scheduling, and risk management.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in a technical field, such as engineering, physics, mathematics, finance, economics, or computer programming; master's degree desirable or equivalent experience.
- Eight or more years of experience in trading, structuring, research, analysis, engineering, programming, design, and/or modeling.
- Advanced knowledge of the electric utility industry and electric energy markets, including trading, scheduling procedures, state and federal policies and regulations, and underlying physical infrastructure and networks.
- Advanced knowledge of traded commodity markets, such as electric bulk power generation, natural gas, transmission, and other commodity markets that impact the cost of electricity.
- Advanced mathematical and analytical skills, including calculus, linear algebra, mixed integer programming, probability, multivariate statistics, real analysis, numerical analysis, and operations research.
